The Butterfly Project

The Butterfly Project is a creative wellness initiative, founded in 2016. We help women to discover their own wings. This program supports women who are navigating life transitions. It’s for those who are rebuilding, rediscovering their voice, and learning to trust themselves again. Through creativity and connection, we remind each other that we are not alone. We are stronger when we have a tribe and a safe space to grow.

The Butterfly Project was inspired by my own journey and the support I received during some of the hardest moments in my life. I came to realize just how important it was to have people who believed in me and held space for healing and growth. Later in life, I felt called to create that same kind of space for other women. Through creativity, community, and self-expression, The Butterfly Project offers a place to feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

As part of the project, I teach the group painting classes for women who are willing to try something new. No experience is needed. With a little guidance and encouragement, each woman creates something beautiful and symbolic. Butterflies represent transformation, bamboo stands for resilience, and the lotus reminds us that we can rise even from muddy waters. These pieces become reminders of strength, hope, and what is possible.

Art is powerful. It quiets the noise and brings a sense of calm. The process is meditative, healing, and often surprisingly fun. It helps us feel heard, connected, and grounded in the moment. And in the end, it leaves us with something beautiful we can carry forward with pride.

The Butterfly Project is now supported by a growing team of volunteers including wellness professionals, coaches, and generous community members. If you feel called to contribute through time, services, or supplies, we welcome your support. Together, we can continue to hold space for women to rise, heal, and create a life that is limitless πŸ¦‹
